BRAD LONG - LOVE ME AGAIN b/w COME TO ME

LOVE ME AGAIN
COME TO ME

This great post was suggested and written by Collin Makamson (Rock Mania magazine).

In and out of unrecorded regional combos since the late 1960's, Logansport, IN music store owner Brad Long issued this, his lone single, on his own Music Stand label in the summer of 1977. Featuring a warm, lo-fi basement pop sound with stylistic roots firmly grounded in the mid 60's, both 'Come to Me' and 'Love me Again'  evoke a hazy mood reminiscent of early Twilley. Also included with the release were a series of press releases, a section of which listed Long's heroes as Roger McGuinn, Paul Revere and the Raiders and Joe Meek. Greeted with positive reviews in the pages of ( Ballroom) Blitz and NY Rocker, Long later contributed a cover of the Rolling Stone's 'Tell Me' to the first VOXX ' Battle of the Garages' compilation.

3 LEEZ 10"

1. SAVE OUR SCENE
2. IMPULSIVELY INJURED
3. N.Y.C. (REVISITED)
4.NATTY PETA

This is the first of 3 records from the 3 leez.  A band from Hacienda Heights California that consisted of
Mark Lee- Vocals
Robert Lee - Guitar
David Lee- Guitar
Joey Carducci- Guitar
Henry Arias- Drums
Released in 1980 on the "Bobette" label. The record has a nice DIY feel to it. Sleeve is a hand glued paste on and the recording sounds like it was done by the band. I haven't heard the other single. Don't really have much info on this band at all! I'm hoping someone can fill me in.

THE STROLLERS

1. ME AND YOU AND A DOG NAMED BOO

2. CHIRPY CHIRPY CHEEP CHEEP

3. FUNNY FUNNY

4. PUPPET MAN (Recorded Live)

1971. CBS, CES 6001.

Malaysian band The Strollers consisted of Michael Magness, Billy Chang, the late Nand Kumar and brothers Hassan & Hussein Idris. The band had two songwriters in Billy and Nand. Unlike other Asian bands, The Strollers had strong original compositions. Their sound was heavily organized around Michael Magness’s keyboards. Stylistically they were part prog-rock and part hard rock, however this single is more on the bubble-gum side and includes 4 cover songs (from Lobo, Middle of the Road, The Sweet and Tom Jones; respectfully).

BOYS - (BABY) IT'S YOU

1. (BABY) IT'S YOU (D. Shonerd/A. Havlicek)

2. BAD LITTLE GIRL (D. Shonerd/A. Havlicek)

1979. Titan Records, 1421.
A-side run off grooves read "Pop From Nebraska ?!?"
B-Side run off grooves read "Fat Boy Goes Wild"

Here's the third and final single from Lincoln, NE's The Boys from 1979. Missouri's Titan Records signed the Boy's after their first two singles were released on Outrage Records (released in '77 and '79) and the single sold well. Titan Records recently released a comp. titled It's All Pop which features previously unreleased tracks from The Boys.

Here's the 3rd and final single from South Plainfield, NJ's Bees, a powerpop band who frequently played New York City (enough so that they're often mistakenly labeled a NYC band). The sleeve credits "No thanks to David Johansen" as upon starting his solo career he formed his band with some of Bees' members.
